{"id":1365,"date":"2024-11-30T23:06:30","date_gmt":"2024-11-30T23:06:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dejunair.com\/?p=1365"},"modified":"2024-11-30T23:06:30","modified_gmt":"2024-11-30T23:06:30","slug":"fried-potatoes-and-onions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dejunair.com\/?p=1365","title":{"rendered":"FRIED POTATOES AND ONIONS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Ingredients<\/mark><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bc cup vegetable oil<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 medium Russet potatoes, peeled<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 large yellow onion, sliced thinly<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Salt and pepper, to taste<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Optional add-in:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd teaspoon garlic powder<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 teaspoon red pepper flakes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tablespoon (3 g) chives, chopped<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Instructions<\/mark><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Step 1:Over medium-high heat, heat the oil in a saut\u00e9 pan or cast-iron skillet. Then add the potatoes and onions to the heated oil with caution. Also add salt and pepper to taste. Garlic powder and red pepper flakes should follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step 2:Allow to cook, turning frequently, for 10-15 minutes, or until potatoes and onions are nicely browned and soft. Cover skillet if desired to aid in cooking and generate a creamier texture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step 3:Drain excess oil on a platter lined with paper towels for a few minutes, then top with chives and serve!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Tips:<\/mark><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022If you want to kick it up a notch, try cooking it in butter or bacon grease instead of oil and tossing in some chopped dill.
