1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for melting)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bd cup unsalted butter<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00be cup brown sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 large eggs<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 teaspoon vanilla extract<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 cup all-purpose flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bd cup unsweetened cocoa powder<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 teaspoon baking soda<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bc teaspoon salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bd cup chocolate chunks or chips (for stuffing)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PREPARATION<\/mark>:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Preheat Oven:<\/strong> Preheat your oven to 350\u00b0F (175\u00b0C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melt Chocolate & Butter:<\/strong> In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the 1 cup of chocolate chips and butter in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mix Wet Ingredients:<\/strong> In a large bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Combine with Melted Chocolate:<\/strong> Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and stir until smooth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add Dry Ingredients:<\/strong> Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir until fully combined, forming a dough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Form Cookies:<\/strong> Scoop out about 2 tablespoons of dough per cookie and flatten it slightly. Place a few chocolate chunks in the center and fold the dough around them to form a ball. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bake:<\/strong> Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the tops are crackled and the edges are set but the center is still soft. Be careful not to overbake!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cool & Enjoy:<\/strong> Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve warm to enjoy the gooey lava center!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
