Drain excess fat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stir in the marinara sauce and crushed tomatoes. Season with salt, pepper, and basil. Simmer for about 20 minutes to let the flavors meld.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Prepare the Cheese Mixture:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Preheat Oven:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preheat your oven to 375\u00b0F (190\u00b0C).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Assemble the Lasagna:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9\u00d713 inch baking dish.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place a layer of lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spread a portion of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella and a bit of Parmesan cheese.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Repeat layers (meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella) until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of meat sauce and a generous topping of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Bake:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Rest:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Let the lasagna cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
