The easiest way to prepare golden and crispy fried shrimp!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (500g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch (optional, for extra crispiness)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk or buttermilk
  • Oil for frying
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk the egg with milk (or buttermilk).
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
  3. Dip the shrimp into the egg mixture, then coat it well in the flour mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the shrimp until golden and crispy (about 2-3 minutes per side).
  6. Drain on a paper towel and serve hot with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.
  7. Serve in individual bowls with a simple garnish of mint or basil sprigs.
