Ingredients
4 medium apples (preferably red or green), sliced
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 large eggs
1/4 cup melted butter (plus extra for greasing)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp baking powder
A pinch of salt
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
Prepare the Apples: Core and slice the apples thinly. Arrange them evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
Make the Batter: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
Add Cinnamon: Add the cinnamon powder to the batter, stirring until well combined. This will give the cake a warm, spiced flavor.
Pour the Batter: Pour the batter over the apple slices in the baking pan, ensuring it spreads evenly to cover the apples.
Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve: Allow the cake to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm, and enjoy it as is or with a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Enjoy.
