Baked cauliflower

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (or smoked paprika for a deeper flavor)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Prepare the Cauliflower:
    • In a large bowl, combine the cauliflower florets with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the cauliflower is evenly coated.
  3. Arrange on Baking Sheet:
    • Spread the seasoned cauliflower florets in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they are not overcrowded to ensure even roasting.
  4. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the cauliflower is tender and golden brown, stirring halfway through for even cooking.
  5. Add Cheese (Optional):
    • If using Parmesan cheese, sprinkle it over the cauliflower during the last 5 minutes of baking, allowing it to melt and become golden.
  6. Serve:
    • Remove the baked cauliflower from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley or chives before serving.
