1 tbsp olive oil
1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp black pepper
4 burger buns, halved
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1 tomato, sliced
4 slices of mozzarella or provolone cheese
Optional * pepperoni slices, mushrooms, or other pizza toppings
★Instructions
- Prepare the Meat
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and diced onion, sauté until soft and fragrant.
- Season the ground beef with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Add to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
- Assemble the Pizza Burgers
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the burger bun halves, cut side up, on a baking sheet.
- Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each bun half.
- Add a tomato slice on top of the sauce.
Spoon the cooked ground beef mixture evenly over each bun.
Add additional toppings, like pepperoni or mushrooms, if desired.
Place a slice of cheese on top of each burger.
- Bake
Place the assembled pizza burgers in the preheated oven.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve
- Remove from the oven and serve hot. You can enjoy these pizza burgers with a side of salad or fries!
