★Ingredients
1 tsp salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp sugar
3 tbsp butter (melted) + extra for brushing
2 tbsp yogurt or sour cream
2 tbsp oil (for cooking)
¾ cup warm water
★Instructions
- Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
Add yogurt (or sour cream), melted butter, and warm water.
Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Form the Flatbreads
After the dough has rested, divide it into equal portions (about 6-8 balls).
Roll each ball into a flat circle using a rolling pin.
- Cook the Flatbreads
Heat a pan or griddle over medium heat and add a little oil.
Place a rolled-out dough circle onto the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles start to form and the bottom turns golden brown.
Flip the flatbread and cook the other side.
- Add the Butter
Once both sides are cooked and slightly golden, remove the flatbread from the pan and brush it generously with melted butter.
Stack them on a plate and brush each one with more butter for a rich, soft texture.
- Serve
These flatbreads can be served warm with any dipping sauce, honey, or cheese. Enjoy them soft and buttery, just like the ones in the image.
