Cream cheese cake with delicious creamy topping

★Ingredients

For the Cake

1 ½ cups granulated sugar

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

½ tsp baking soda

2 tsp baking powder

3 large eggs

¼ tsp salt

1 cup sour cream

¾ cup vegetable oil

8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened

2 tsp vanilla extract

For the Frosting

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened

1 tsp vanilla extract

3-4 cups powdered sugar

Milk (optional, for adjusting consistency)

★Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven*
    Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients*
    In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Combine wet ingredients*
    In another bowl, beat the eggs, oil, sour cream, vanilla extract, and softened cream cheese until smooth.
  4. Mix the batter*
    Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Bake the cake*
    Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool the cake*
    Remove from the oven and allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.

For the Frosting

  1. Prepare the frosting
    Beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Beat until fluffy. Add milk little by little if the frosting needs to be thinned.
  2. Frost the cake*
    Spread the frosting over the cooled cake evenly.
  3. Serve
    Slice and enjoy the creamy, delicious cake!
