Ingredients
For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 12 Tbsp unsalted butter, cold and diced
- 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
For the Filling:
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 12 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans (about 14 oz)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
Make the Crust:
In a food processor, combine flour, powdered sugar, and sea salt.
Add the cold, diced butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for 20–22 minutes, or until the crust is lightly golden.
Prepare the Filling:
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
Stir in brown sugar, honey, and heavy cream until smooth.
Bring to a gentle boil, stirring constantly for 1 minute.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, sea salt, and chopped pecans.
Assemble and Bake:
Pour the pecan mixture evenly over the baked crust.
Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 20–25 minutes, until the filling is bubbling and golden.
Cool and Serve:
Let cool completely in the pan.
Once set, lift out using the parchment and cut into squares.
