Soft and Fluffy Pan-Fried Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups (300g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • ¾ cup (180ml) warm water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted butter

Filling (optional):

  • Cheese, mashed potatoes, or cooked minced meat
  • Herbs and spices of choice

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
    • Gradually add warm water and knead until a smooth dough forms.
    • Cover and let it rest for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.
  2. Shape the Bread:
    • Divide the dough into two equal portions.
    • Flatten each portion into a circle.
    • If adding a filling, place it in the center and fold the dough over, sealing the edges.
    • Gently press the dough to form a thick round shape.
  3. Cook the Bread:
    • Heat a pan over medium-low heat and lightly grease it with oil.
    • Place the dough in the pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Serve:
    • Let it cool slightly, then enjoy warm with tea or as a side dish.
