Perfect Easy Boiled Eggs Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Fresh eggs (as many as you need)
  • Water
  • A pinch of salt (optional, helps prevent cracking)

Instructions:

  1. Place Eggs in a Pot:
    • Arrange the eggs in a single layer at the bottom of a pot.
    • Add enough cold water to cover the eggs by about 1 inch.
  2. Add Salt (Optional):
    • A small pinch of salt can help prevent the shells from cracking.
  3. Bring to a Boil:
    • Place the pot on the stove over medium-high heat and bring the water to a gentle boil.
  4. Turn Off Heat & Cover:
    • Once the water reaches a boil, turn off the heat and cover the pot with a lid.
  5. Set the Timer:
    • Soft-Boiled: 4-5 minutes (creamy yolk)
    • Medium-Boiled: 7-8 minutes (slightly set yolk)
    • Hard-Boiled: 10-12 minutes (fully set yolk)
  6. Prepare Ice Bath:
    • While the eggs are cooking, fill a bowl with cold water and ice cubes.
  7. Cool the Eggs:
    • When the timer is up, transfer the eggs immediately to the ice bath. Let them sit for about 5 minutes—this stops cooking and makes peeling easy!

Peeling Tip:

Gently tap the eggs on a hard surface, roll them lightly to crack, and peel under running water to remove the shell easily.
